How does the trial with my mentor work?

How does the 7-day trial with my mentor work?

Most mentors on MentorCruise offer a 7-day free trial when you start a new mentorship. This trial gives you time to meet your mentor, get aligned on goals, and decide if the collaboration is a good fit.

The trial begins when:

  • Your mentor accepts your application, and
  • You enter your payment details and gain access to chat.

You will not be charged during the trial period.

Billing starts automatically after the trial ends, even if you did not manage to schedule a call during that time.

Please note:

  • You are only eligible for one trial per mentor.
  • If you previously had a trial with the same mentor, you will not receive another one.

Different trial styles

Some mentors use different formats for their trial period.

Standard 7-day trial

This trial gives you time to:

  • Chat with your mentor
  • Schedule an introductory call
  • Discuss goals and expectations

Mentors can extend the trial if there are scheduling issues. If needed, ask your mentor directly.

Intro call trial (for some mentors)

Some mentors use an intro call–based trial instead of (or in addition to) a standard 7-day trial.

In this case:

  • You first schedule a short introductory call
  • After that call, you decide whether to continue into a paid mentorship
  • Billing only starts if you choose to proceed

What should I do during the trial?

The goal of the trial is to confirm that the mentorship is a good fit.

We recommend:

  • Scheduling a short intro call (15–30 minutes)
  • Aligning on goals and expectations
  • Getting a feel for how the mentor communicates and works

The trial is not meant for deep technical work yet, but for planning and alignment.

What if I want to cancel?

If you feel the mentorship is not a good fit, you can cancel during the trial directly from your dashboard.

You will not be charged if you cancel before the trial ends.
