How can I become a mentor? Can I reapply?
Applying takes just a few minutes at https://mentorcruise.com/mentor/
You'll need a professional headshot, a short bio written in first person, a Linkedin profile. We'll also ask you a few questions during the process.
Applications are reviewed manually within 14 days. What we're looking for is skill and experience we cannot currently cover sufficiently with our current mentoring team. As a result, we're very picky about letting new mentors into our community – less than 10% of applicants get accepted.
Please note that a rejection is not a judgement of your skill – instead it often is a reflection of our current supply and demand as a platform. It is not possible for us to accept every qualified professional as a mentor on our platform
After you get accepted
We'll reach out with next steps and tips on how to set up your mentoring profile.
If you get rejected
You're welcome to reapply if your mentor application was rejected. There's no waiting period or restriction on submitting a new application.
Your rejection email includes an "Apply again" button that takes you directly to the application form. Click this link to start your new application.
Review the feedback in your rejection email before reapplying. The email includes specific pointers on how to improve your profile.
Improving your application
Use the feedback from your rejection email to strengthen your reapplication:
- Update your profile — Add more detail about your experience and areas of expertise that match platform demand
- Refine your bio — Clearly explain what value you bring to mentees and your mentoring approach
- Check required fields — Ensure your LinkedIn and Twitter profiles are connected, and your profile image meets requirements (at least 400x400 pixels)
- Align with demand — The most common rejection reason is that your background or focus doesn't match current mentee demand. Consider adjusting your listed skills or experience to better align with active categories
Review timeline
