Choosing the right skills to list on your profile is crucial for connecting with mentees who are seeking guidance in your areas of expertise. That's why we're providing personalized suggestions to assist you!
Adding skills to your profile
Start by searching for skills that you are good at. Within each section, the options are sorted by search volume - the number of mentees that come to MentorCruise looking to learn a specific skill.
What does “Limited reach” mean?
Simply put, it means that it may take some time for you to connect with a mentee interested in that skill. We put a skill under the Limited reach section in two scenarios:
- High competition: Although this skill is commonly sought after by mentees, it’s also popular among mentors. Based on our records, your profile may not rank very high in search results.
- Low demand: Not many mentees on MentorCruise are looking to learn this particular skill.
It’s reasonable to add a few skills with Limited reach if you genuinely enjoy mentoring in those areas. In the meantime, consider adding other skills to increase your visibility.
Updating your skills
Our recommendations are based on factors that may fluctuate over time. For example:
- The demand from the mentee side
- The popularity of a skill among mentors
- Your performance
- Your New mentor or Top mentor status
We will notify you by email when we believe your skills have become significantly outdated. But don’t just rely on our notifications! We strongly recommend regularly reviewing and updating your skills.
As you gain more experience on our platform, you may have the opportunity to rank higher for skills that were previously not recommended due to high competition. It’s also important to ensure that your skills remain in demand and accurately reflect your expertise.
